B91 x BTC123 Global Tour Pulls into Taiwan Stop, Paves Way for Payment 5.0

B91 and BTC123’s Global Tour held in Taipei City, Taiwan, amassed a massive turnout on the evening of the 14th August event. The Chief Marketing Officer of B91 Foundation, Rob Davis, and Managing Director of VVCoin, John William, attended the sellout event and shared the latest information on both projects and their company’s vision. This is the fourth stop of the ongoing Global Tour jointly organized by B91 and BTC123 after a series of appearances in Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam.
2019 has been marked with a plethora of novel and innovative blockchain projects, each more sophisticated than the other, but few have managed to hit the spot in the way that B91 and VVcoin has. Payment 5.0 has been garnering much attention in recent months, particularly for its clever combination of features and thoughtful utilization of technologies, which could potentially disrupt the existing digital finance system.
Revolutionising Payment 5.0 with Cryptocurrencies
At the evening’s panel discussion, distinguished guests put forward their own opinions on the “The Evolution of Payment 5.0 and how cryptocurrencies could play its part” with five esteemed speakers from Taiwan’s blockchain space. Mr. Rob Davis, chief marketing officer of B91 foundation, also gave updates on the future and subsequent plans that the projects will be delivering in the coming months. B91 will be deployed globally and build a global stable blockchain application ecosystem, which will eventually become the most trusted application platform in the blockchain industry. The B91 product line, planned in the company’s pipeline, will promote the speed of the global blockchain application scenario and take the lead in opening a new payment 5.0 era.

Taiwan Set to Regulate Security Token Offerings
Mr. Kelvin Ching, co-leader of the Crypto Assets and Token Economy Group of KPMG Taiwan, also spoke at the keynote session. Drawing from his legal expertise in cryptocurrency regulations, as well as his experience in an advisory role to the Taiwanese government, Mr. Ching shared various insightful updates on the current cryptocurrency market in Taiwan. In particular, he shared that there was an ongoing push for a more regulated environment, to allow innovative blockchain projects to be properly introduced in Taiwan.
Mr. Ching’s keynote speech also revealed Taiwanese government plans to establish a mechanism for security token offerings (STOs), designed as a fund-raising channel for startups. The move is in line with Taiwan’s gradualist acceptance of digital financial technology, including adoption of a fintech “sandbox” that allows firms to experiment with innovative business models without violating existing regulations.
Setting the pace for Global Adoption
In collaboration with Hegion and DIFY, the Taiwan stop of B91 and BTC123’s global tour took place on 14th August 2019, from 530pm to 930pm, at the Riviera Hotel, Taipei. The event was hosted just a stone’s throw away from the birthplace of tech startups such as the Taipei Expo Dome, which houses numerous successful technological innovations and the annual Meet Taipei Startup Festival – Asia’s biggest 3-day startup conference.
