AT&T the second largest telecom operator in the US, and one of the worlds largest in terms of profit margin has announced the integration of Bitcoin (BTC) & Bitcoin Cash (BCH) payments. The company has partnered with payment processor BitPay to provide settlement.
AT&T becomes the first major U.S. mobile carrier to provide a cryptocurrency payment option to customers. AT&T published a blog on its website announcing the news.
“We’re always looking for ways to improve and expand our services,” said Kevin McDorman, vice president, AT&T Communications Finance Business Operations. “We have customers who use cryptocurrency, and we are happy we can offer them a way to pay their bills with the method they prefer.”
AT&T’s new Bitcoin (BTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) payment are only available for online bill payment. Currently, customers cannot use cryptocurrency payments for the purchase of phones or at any AT&T stores.
