On June 7th, 2019, Bloomberg Quint published an article which sent the entire Indian cryptocurrency community to shock. The article stated that there can potentially be a “10-year non-bailable jail term” for buying, selling, trading, and even mining Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
John McAfee has now asked the hacker group Anonymous to fight the cryptocurrency ban. In a now-deleted Tweet, John McAfee tweeted,
“10 YEARS IN JAIL FOR USING CRYPTOCURRENCY IN INDIA!!! If there was ever a time for Anonymous to step up to the plate, that time is now.”
The tweet has now been deleted.
