Satoshi Nakamoto’s Account Active for the First Time After 2011

Satoshi Nakamoto the anonymous founder of Bitcoin who has not been active since 2011 in any forums has suddenly posted on the P2P foundation forum with a single word “nour”.

The Satoshi account became active again today and took two actions. First, the account befriended Wagner Tamanaha and then posted a single word “nour”. The email used by the account is satoshi@gmx.com which was allegedly hacked back in 2014.

Based on his profile, Wagner seems to live in Brazil and is active in the Blockchain community. He has a background in marketing and advertising and doesn’t seem to have any experience in coding.

He said:

“Looks like Satoshi’s reappeared and I’m being investigated :-).”

So what does “nour” mean?

The word in Arabic translates to “Light”, but it is unclear why Satoshi would post an Arabic word.

A simple google search of the term gives the following result:

“The most loving, affectionate and caring person you’ll ever meet. Extremely smart, funny and sensitive. A bit lost, still figuring out what she wants in life and how to reach it. Stubborn and not willing to take other peoples advice. When she smiles she makes you forget all the problems you have, her hug will give you an assurance that you have never felt and will never do.”

So is Satoshi Back? Or is it sneaky Craig again?

It is probably none of the two. There is no reason to think that Satoshi is back because there have been reports of the account being compromised in 2014. It is probably still compromised and under the control of a hacker.

Here are some crazy speculations on the development:

  • “nour” means light, so this could mean that after hacking Satoshi’s account, the hacker might hack aim for ‘Lite’coins Charlie Lee
  • Light could mean something related to the Lightning network
  • Craig Wright has once again managed to get hold of Satoshi’s account and is trying to create chaos
  • As Wagner is from Brazil and the term “nour” has an empathetic meaning somehow it is a subtle hint on immigration

Point is that a single worded post is open to interpretation. Most probably the account is hacked and is in control of some hacker, but it is unclear why the hacker would post a single word which has no significance to anything related to Bitcoin.
