Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey Passes Bitcoin’s Lightning Torch, says no to Ethereum (ETH) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH)

Jack Receives and Passes Bitcoin’s Lightning Torch

Bitcoin’s second layer technology Lightning network is still in the beta phase and is being tested out by Bitcoin enthusiasts. In a recent trend called the “Lightning Torch” started by an anonymous person called “Hodlonaut” where the “torch payment” is passed on from one person to another adding 10,000 satoshis at every stop. Over 150 people have already taken part in this exercise.

Host of RHR and Cryptocurrency writer Matt Odell tweeted at Jack asking him to participate in the lightning torch. Jack responded the next day with his invoice, after receiving the “torch” he then quickly passed it on to Elizabeth Stark who is the CEO of Lightning labs.

Jack recently appeared in a podcast with Joe Rogan where he boldly stated that the “internet will have its own native currency and it most likely will be Bitcoin”. He then goes on to tweet why he bullish on Bitcoin:

Jack is not a fan of Altcoins

Crypto Twitter was quick to ask Jack about other Cryptocurrencies like Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash and of course XRP even though he had stated in the podcast that he had no plans of adding any other Cryptocurrency to Square led Cash App.

Jack refuses to buy into Ethereum (ETH):

Bitcoin Cash (BCH) a fork of Bitcoin gets a “Hell no” from Dorsey.

But to be fair Jack is bound to promote Bitcoin’s lightning network as he is invested in Elizabeth Stark led Lightning Labs. He has been widely criticized for censoring people on Twitter which goes against the Ethos of Bitcoin which is by nature Censorship resistant.

Jack went full maximalist and disclosed that he owns only one Cryptocurrency and that is Bitcoin.

The 42-year-old CEO of Twitter and Square is set to appear on Stephan Livera Podcast along with Lightning Lab’s Elizabeth Stark this Saturday 1 PM Pacific time.
