On 18th April 2019, Huobi announced that they will be stopping Bitcoin SV deposits and withdrawals. The announcement came during the time when major exchanges such as Binance and Kraken were delisting Bitcoin SV. This caused many in the cryptocurrency community to think that maybe Huobi is delisting Bitcoin SV too.
The company later clarified that its deposits and withdrawals have been stopped due to an ongoing maintenance.
Major delisting of Bitcoin SV
On 15th April 2019, Binance CEO CZ announced on Twitter that they would be delisting Bitcoin SV. The news was announced after Dr. Craig Wright, who is also the founder of Bitcoin SV sued podcaster Peter McCormack for pointing out Craig Wright isn’t real Satoshi.
This move by Binance caused major turmoil inside the cryptocurrency community with some being happy by Binance’s decision while others calling it “censorship”. Cryptocurrency exchange Kraken too announced the next day they will be delisting BSV.
