ATX, the official transport department of the city of Austin, Texas is partnering with IOTA to bring innovation to the mobility industry for their 1 million people. The announcement was made at the University of Austin, Texas where IOTA’s co-founder Dominik Schiener attended a special event.
The special event took place at the University of Austin on 29th April and was attended by Robert Spillar, Director of Transportation for the City of Austin and Co-Founder of IOTA Dominik Schiener. In the event they announce the partnership.
Many details regarding the partnership haven’t been revealed. But it does provide a huge boost to IOTA’s ever-increasing number of partnerships and also increases the use case for the tangle technology, the technology behind IOTA.
IOTA’s has been making headlines with a number of industry and government partnerships. Recently, Jaguar Land Rover announced a partnership with IOTA, in which vehicle owners can earn IOTA tokens for agreeing to share user data.
IOTA is also a member of the Mobility Open Blockchain Initiative (MOBI), an open industry consortium which uses blockchain to make mobility safer. BMW, Ford, GM, and IBM are some of the companies that are part of MOBI.
