BlockCard, a cryptocurrency debit card-based payment from Ternio, has announced the support for Litecoin. The news was announced by their CEO Ian Kane on Twitter. Users can now use BlockCard’s debit cards to pay their Litecoins to merchants.
Litecoin was added to BlockCard for the “Pay With Litecoin” initiative by the Litecoin foundation. Currently, BlockCard supports 6 cryptocurrencies – Bitcoin [BTC], Ethereum [ETH], Bitcoin Cash[BCH], Stellar [XLM], Tern [Their own native token], and lastly Litecoin.
BlockCard provides a convenient way to pay with your cryptocurrencies. These cards can be recharged with the supported cryptocurrencies, and the cards can be used to pay in various stores. According to the company, the cards are supported everywhere where major cards are accepted.
Although a novel idea, the cryptocurrency cards are generally associated with a scam. Major cryptocurrency scams such as X token were based on this idea. Due to this reason, the majority of the user from the cryptocurrency space are still vary of cryptocurrency debit cards. It’s yet to be seen does BlockCard change the user’s perception, or turns out to be another scam.
