“Mastering Bitcoin” Presented on Chinese Official TV Channel as “Blockchain: The Path Towards Digitized Assets”
Chinese Official Television channel CCTV(China Central Television) recommended the book “Mastering Bitcoin” by Andreas Antonopoulos. However, they changed the title of the book to “Blockchain: The Path Towards Digitized Assets” as Bitcoin is banned in China.
‘Mastering Bitcoin’ is one of the best-written books on the technical foundations of Bitcoin by Andreas Antonopolous. The book contains details about peer-to-peer, decentralized network, Bitcoin and Blockchain principles and many stories and examples of the key aspects of Bitcoin.
The news outlet cnLedger confirmed that the official Television channel of China had a segment on the show where they recommended the book with the name changed to “Blockchain: The Path Towards Digitized Assets” in the Chinese version of the book. But the subheading of the book in English was not changed and remained “Mastering Bitcoin: Unlocking Digital Cryptocurrencies”.
cnLedger Tweeted:
.@aantonop 's "Mastering Bitcoin" was recommended on China's official TV channel today to national wide audience. However, the book title in the Chinese version was changed to "Blockchain: The Path Towards Digitized Assets". No #Bitcoin mentioned at all!https://t.co/NjtizGipeT pic.twitter.com/a16i2dI5tb

Although the title has been changed, cnLedger suggests that the contents in the book have not been changed or censored.
cnLedger Tweeted:
Judging from the table-of-contents and a few sample pages available online, the content haven’t been changed. Only the title was altered.
Blockmanity’s Take:
China has been critical of Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin by banning ICOs and all trading of Cryptocurrencies. Many companies have fled from the country and have set foot in Crypto friendly countries like Malta and Hong Kong.
But China has embraced the “Blockchain, not Bitcoin” narrative. The president even called it a “Breakthrough Technology” in one of his speeches.
What good is to change the name of the book to Blockchain when the contents of the book clearly talk about the importance of Bitcoin.
