Moonveil Winds Down: Web3 Gaming Studio Shuts After Four Years in Tough Market

Moonveil Winds Down: in Tough Market

The world of Web3 gaming just lost another player. Moonveil Studio has decided to close its doors after four years of work. This move comes as the GameFi space faces hard times with less money and interest from investors.

Why Moonveil Had to Close

Moonveil tried hard to raise more funds and find partners. But the market conditions were too bad to keep going. The studio saw a big drop in support for gaming projects over the last two years. This made it impossible to continue. They shared the news in a clear message about ending operations step by step in the coming weeks.

The team feels sad about stopping a journey that lasted four years. They will slowly stop all projects, talks with the community, and services. Their website and social pages may also go away over time. Answers to questions might take longer now.

What Moonveil Built During Its Run

Even with the end, Moonveil left behind some good work. Their main game called AstrArk came out in February 2025. It got more than 2 million unique wallets and saw over 48,000 player versus player fights. Another game named Bushwhack, a stealth battle game, had a test run in October 2025 that people liked.

The studio also made a Mini Games Hub and started Moonveil Punch to help other game makers join in. On the tech side, they built a Layer 2 chain using ZK tech and Polygon CDK. This was meant to link player identities and rewards across games in a smooth way.

Funding and Token Efforts

Moonveil raised money in rounds that added up to a lot. They got 5.4 million dollars in 2023, then 9 million in a Pre-Series A round, and another 5 million later. This helped grow their system and back the $MORE token. The token was listed on places like KuCoin and Bitget.

Big Picture for GameFi

Moonveil is not alone in facing these problems. Many small studios in on-chain gaming struggle with less cash flow and hard times staying alive. Some projects with strong NFT groups or good ties keep going. But others have to close or change plans. This shutdown shows the current state of Web3 gaming where only the strong survive.

The team at Moonveil feels proud of what they made and the friends they found along the way. They will exit in a slow and careful way to help token holders and node runners as much as they can.

Looking Ahead

The close of Moonveil may push other teams to think about new ways to build in this space. It could mean more focus on real use and steady growth instead of quick hype. For now, the story ends here for this studio, but the lessons from four years of work will stay with the industry.
