Tron [TRX] enters the Korean gaming industry
South Korea has the world’s 4th largest gaming market. And Tron is entering it. The company’s Head of Business Development, Roy Liu, has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with 2 major South Korean blockchain and gaming associations – Korea Mobile Game Association (KMGA) and the Korea Blockchain Contents Association (KBCCA).
KBCCA has openly shown interest in the Tron’s investment in the blockchain and the gaming industry. The signing of MoU marks the first step towards Tron’s plan to dominate South Korea’s rapidly growing gaming market.
Tron is not the only player in this space though. In 2018, Enjin Coin, the blockchain specifically designed for gaming and trading of non-fungible assets, too signed an MoU with KMGA for the use of blockchain in mobile games.
South Korea’s gaming market is worth $5.6 billion (2018 est) with 28.9 million players. Apart from gaming Blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies are thriving there as well. Signing these MoU paves the way for Tron to dominate one of the biggest gaming industry in the world.
