Wikileaks founder, Julian Assange arrested for ‘failing to surrender to the court’

Co-founder of Wikileaks, Julian Assange has been arrested at Ecuador’s embassy in London. A video of Julian Assange being taken away by the police is being shared on Social Media.

According to news sources, Ecuadorian embassy terminated Julian’s asylum after repeated international violation most recent one being the leaking of Vatican documents in January 2019. President of Ecuador Lenin Moreno said the country had “reached its limit on the behavior of Mr. Assange”.

Julian Assange set up Wikileaks in 2006 for obtaining and publishing confidential documents and images. He had been in Ecuador’s embassy in London since 2012, to avoid extradition to Sweden on a rape allegation.

Julian Assange was the one first few users to understand the potential of Bitcoins. Back in 2010, when Paypal, Visa, and Mastercard had blocked donations to Wikileaks, Julian Assange had shifted to Bitcoin to raise funds for Wikileaks. In fact, two websites WikiLeaks and Silkroad are widely credited for using Bitcoin to its true use case and bringing Bitcoin adoption to the masses.

Sad day for Crypto community

People all across the cryptocurrency community are saddened by the arrest of Julian Assange and took to social media to show anger towards authorities.
