Some of the Best April fool’s jokes in the crypto community

This April fool’s day we saw some outrageous and funny pranks pulled off by crypto nerds including influencers like Vitalik Buterin. Every year in the crypto community, the members try to compete with each other for the best pranks and this year was better than ever! Although the market is bearish and a lot of people are anxious there is never a shortage of humor filled environment and surely we saw some really funny pranks this time.

Here is the list of pranks that we think were the best:

Vitalik announces Ethereum stable coin

Vitalik Buterin announced in the Ethereum blog that he going to release a stable coin for people to store funds without them having to worry about their monthly salary dropping by 57% between the time they receive it and the time they can use the money to buy products. The stable coin will be called World Trade Francs or WTF. He also said that they are in talks with  “sketchy Pacific island nations national governments ” to use WTF as a reserve currency.

And he also mentioned that they will only lizardcoins as payment for the ICO.

OnePlus launches a cryptocurrency PeiCoin

OnePlus also announced that they will be launching their own cryptocurrency PeiCoin(named after the co-founder Carl Pei) where users will get paid in tokens to use their phone. They also launched a video teaser and a website which has one button called “Get Peid” when you click on it shares a tweet.

Tether Audit

Yes! Tether releases full audit after months of waiting and comes clean (If you don’t know Tether is a token backed by the US dollar has been controversial because they have not been transparent and have not had an audit).

This news of Tether spread in the subreddit r/Buttcoin. Although this is just a joke we would definitely want this to be true someday and would want Tether to have an audit and be more transparent.

And our very own prank – Donald Trump and Roger Ver team up to announce national cryptocurrency

Donald Trump and Roger Ver come together to create the greatest cryptocurrency ever! The TrumpCoin (We later came to know there’s already a coin named TrumpCoin).

To make the Trumpcoin a reality, President Trump has asked Roger Ver, to fork Bitcoin Cash and tell everyone that Trumpcoin is the future as it is designed to be only used by Americans and not by anyone who is not American.

The Chief Scientist will be Dr. Craig Wright who created the technology to send data with the speed of light with only the use of a single tweet.

The new token will also be integrated with Twitter and will automatically increase in value once President Trump tweets something.
