4500 Stores will now Accept XRP for Payments After Coingate Integration

CoinGate, the cryptocurrency payment gateway has just announced that it has enabled native XRP payment option for over 4500 online shops.

After popular demand by their community, the platform made the decision to make XRP their new means of payment along with Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and other cryptocurrencies.

With multiple shops using Goingate as their payment gateway, XRP can be used to purchase a VPN, video games etc. It also provides merchants to accept XRP as well as convert it into Fiat, Bitcoin or Ethereum.

Coingate wrote in their blog post:

“We are thrilled to let you know that we are adding yet another payment option for our merchants, and this time it’s a big one! Due to very popular demand by the community, our next cryptocurrency on the list – XRP!
As a result, XRP coin owners can now use it as a means of payment at more than 4,500 shops online! Whether you want to purchase a VPN, video game or anything else, you are more than welcome to do that!”

Coingate users can currently buy XRP and use SEPA bank transfer, mobile balance, and QQPay through CoinGate’s website. The firm also notes that integrating XRP was different as it does not use Blockchain, in hopes to “further accelerate the decentralization of the $XRP network,” by launching its own XRP ledger validator.

Blockmanity’s Take

Ripple XRP is trying to place itself with Bitcoin and Ethereum at major platforms where it can be used to buy items. This could help in the adoption of XRP.
