Roger Ver, former Bitcoin promoter turned Bitcoin Cash promoter, offered OpenNode, a payment company, $1.2 million to shift from Bitcoin to Bitcoin Cash. Revealed by their official Twitter handle, OpenNode ultimately declined the offer by Roger Ver.
According to OpenNode, an open financial system is only possible through Bitcoin and nothing else. Bitcoin has gotten a new ally in the ongoing civil war between Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash.
OpenNode is a payment processor that allows business to accept and handle Bitcoin payments. Due to censorship by Patreon and high transaction fees by PayPal, many merchants, and individual content creators are shifting towards Bitcoin payments. Bitcoinvenezuela.com, an organization promoting the use of Bitcoin in Venezuela uses OpenNode.
The ongoing civil war between Bitcoin and Bitcoin cash starts again. And Bitcoin cash has a new supporter: Founder of Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin himself. Vitalik has publicly criticized Bitcoin’s PoW and has become active in the Bitcoin Cash subreddit.
