Extreme Tech Challenge, the world’s largest startup competition, which was held at Necker Island and organized by Richard Branson has officially concluded. Power Ledger, an Australian Blockchain startup was announced as the winner of the competition. Power Ledger beat two other finalists one from the AI domain and other from the healthcare domain, both upcoming technological fields.
The judges for the competition were Sir Richard Branson – Chairman of the Virgin Group, Koichi Narasaki – Cheif Digital Officer of Sompo, and Valery Vavilov – CEO BitFury. The three finalists before the event concluded were Power Ledger, Revl, a smart action camera company that uses AI-powered editing software, and Owlet, an infant health platform that empowers parents to care for their children.
Winning this event gives Power Ledger access to some of the biggest investors, mentors and entrepreneurs in the industry including Sir Richard Branson himself.
Power Ledger is a Peer – to – Peer energy trading platform that allows anyone to share the unutilised excess energy of their with others and make some money. The news of Power Ledger winning the competition instantly had an effect on the token of Power Ledger (POWR).itsit’s peak POWR was up by 4.3%. It has since then subsided but is still up by 2.43%.
