Brave Browser introduces a new Speed Reader mode, Basic Attention Token [BAT] up by 15%
Privacy-focused web browser, Brave Browser, has released a new SuperReader mode which will allow increase page speed by a factor of 20x. The new features just load the text and discard all the non-essential part of the article: including graphics, CSS, JavaScript etc.
Modern web browsers do have a “reader mode” where most of the annoying extras are removed, but they do not remove ads and other tracking codes. Brave browser’s Super reader mode, on the other hand, removes everything that is extra.
Current web browser removes the extra content by first loading the entire page and then removing the extras while Brave’s super reader mode removes everything extra before the page is even fully loaded. This improves page load speeds, reduces bandwidth cost and provides greater privacy to the user.
According to reports by the Brave team,
“The new mode shows a radical performance gains (speedups ranging from 20× to 27×, bandwidth savings on the order of 84×, and memory reduction of 2.4×)”
