Samsung soon to introduce Ethereum wallet in Budget Galaxy Phones

Electronics giant Samsung first announced its plans to launch a Crypto wallet in its flagship Galaxy S10 phone.

Many local publications have recently reported that Samsung is planning to extend its Crypto wallet support to budget Galaxy smartphones. Senior managing director at Samsung Electronics in the department of Product Strategy Team Chae Won-Cheol said:

“We will lower barriers to new experiences by gradually expanding the number of Galaxy models that support blockchain functions. We will also expand our service target countries after Korea, the United States and Canada.”

Galaxy S10 was released in March with a Cryptocurrency wallet. This wallet is capable of storing the public as well as private keys of various ERC 20 tokens.

Previously Bitcoin’s logo has appeared in several images, but Samsung currently only supports ERC-20 tokens of Ethereum. So everyone here is with the hope that someday Samsung will add support to Bitcoin (BTC) and other Cryptocurrencies.

Samsung is taking a further step by introducing it to other Galaxy models and is also planning to boost convenience and security with the help of local currencies and identification based on Blockchain with telecom operators as their partners. SK Telecom and Korean Telecom are on the mind of Samsung for partnering the above project.

Introducing Blockchain to Galaxy was not the first venture. Samsung SDS, known to be a subsidiary of the tech giant announced that for supply chain solutions, they were considering implementing Blockchain. Blockmanity also reported about rumors that Samsung developing its own Ethereum based Blockchain network. So we can expect the development to produce the own token for Samsung which may be known as the Samsung coins in the year 2020.
