Tron Becomes the Leading Platform for Dapps, Bitgo adds TRX Support

Tron has now become the leading decentralized app (DApp) platform after surpassing its long term rival Ethereum on total dapp users and number of active users.

According to the recent data by DappReview, one of the leading dapp ranking websites,

“Tron has 267,000 total dapp users in the past two months which is the highest followed by EOS with 197,000 and Ethereum with 151,000 users within the period. Further, Tron had the highest number of active users, 16,236 followed by EOS 13,845 and Ethereum 2,133.”

Justin Sun, the CEO of Tron Sun made efforts by working out many things like the acquisition of BitTorrent, launch of several projects and collaboration with major players in the industry. In 2018, Sun had always stated that “the primary goal of Tron is to surpass Ethereum in dapps and smart contracts.”

His Twitter followers have recently surpassed those of Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin, thanks to the recent attention and followership earned. Sun is not shy of controversy, recently he and Vitalik trolled each other on Twitter over BitTorrent.

Ethereum was the first, biggest, and most well-known dapps platform, and now Tron has toppled Ethereum from its throne. We recently reported that more than 90% of Ethereum Dapps have no users, but as the year has just started, Ethereum may get another opportunity to reclaim its position as the leading dapps and smart contract platform.

Bitgo Adds Tron Support

Bitgo is the leading platform for Blockchain services like multi-signature, security, compliance and custodial services to institutional investors and companies. The Palo-Alto based company already supports over 100 Cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and others.

Ben Chan, CTO of Bitgo said in a press release:

“BitGo is the only institutional digital asset company with a full product offering, from high-volume wallet platform to regulated custody services. Institutional investors are responsible for other people’s assets, and that requires the highest levels of security and regulatory compliance. BitGo will provide that for TRX.”

Justin Sun said:

“This partnership with BitGo will let institutional investors trade TRX with the confidence,”
