VeChain Collaborates with Adidas, SBTG and HBO for Game of Thrones Themed Sneakers

NFC chips by VeChain will be used in the collaboration of HBO and the famous Singaporean sneaker designer SBTG. Four pairs of customized Adidas sneakers, designed in ‘Game of Thrones’(GoT) style, will be displayed from April 17 to 30 in one of the Marina Bay Sands stores. The four pairs of sneakers will be given to fans through competition and won’t be up for sale.

Much awaited ‘GoT’s’ eighth season starts soon. The medieval-based fantasy drama series is one of the most popular TV shows of all time with a huge fan following. This collaboration will surely augment VeChain’s brand value.

According to sources,” Each pair of GAME OF THRONES x SBTG customized sneakers are embedded with Near-Field Communication (NFC) chips powered by VeChain, a public blockchain platform that allows any potential collector the ability to verify the authenticity of each pair through VeChainThor blockchain. The NFC chips also contain exclusive behind-the-scenes videos of each sneaker design which can be played and viewed by anyone using the VeChain mobile app.”

VeChain is a blockchain-enabled platform that is designed to enhance supply chain management processes. It provides retailers and consumers with the ability to determine the quality and authenticity of products that are bought.

NFC (Near Field Communication) chips are passive tags that don’t require power. Unlike Bluetooth, NFC doesn’t require any kind of manual pairing or device discovery to transfer data. With NFC, a connection is automatically started when another NFC device enters into that previously specified four-inch range.
