EOS and Everipedia Featured in Juicy J’s New Rap Video
The Crypto market has been pumping in the last 24 hours, there is a strong case that Juicy J might be the fueling the pump! (We’re Kidding obviously)
Popular Rapper Juicy J released a music video called “Let Me See” featuring Kevin Gates and Lil Skies. The video mainly talks about money giving off a dot com era startup vibe, interestingly the video also features the smart contract platform EOS and the Wikipedia competitor Everipedia.
A minute and 10 seconds into the video, Juicy J starts writing on the chalkboard and if you observe closely the code that he is writing is related to token creation on the EOSio Blockchain.
It seems like the team of Everipedia was involved in the creation of this segment as they are also featured in the video. Everipedia is a decentralized encyclopedia that migrated to EOS from Ethereum last year due to scalability issues. Three men wearing everipedia T-shirts can be seen standing behind Kevin Gates at the end of the video (5:30).
The video was released on February 15th and has amassed over 1.35 Million views already. Although it is refreshing to see code from open source Blockchains making its way onto music videos it is hard to imagine how it will actually raise awareness about EOS with a brief appearance. But Everipedia could get some publicity due to the video as their logo is much more visible in the video.
But the bigger question here is if Juicy J and his team are actually working with EOS to create a celebrity token given that the entire video revolves around money and technology. It is hard to imagine that it was just a coincidence that Juicy J features EOS related code in a music video.
