TRON (TRX) outpaces Ethereum (ETH) in Daily Transactions after TronBet Launch

Justin Sun’s Tron (TRX) has triumphed over Vitalik Buterin’s Ethereum (ETH) by surpassing it in daily transaction volume for the first time. TRON managed to achieve this for four straight days.

According to BitInfoCharts and Tronscan, Tron had more transactions than Ethereum from Oct 18 to Oct 21 reaching a peak 630,018 transactions on Oct 19, 2018.

Oct 19 – Tron – 630,018 Ethereum – 601,109
Oct 20 – Tron – 593,029 Ethereum – 534,080
Oct 21 – Tron – 517,909 Ethereum – 508,014

Tron’s sudden rise in transactions is credited to its launch of its first large-scale distributed gaming app (dApp) TRONBet.

TRONbet is an online dice game built on top of the Tron blockchain network. On its launch day it was played over 10,000 times and in over a week has been played over 500,000 times and over 300 million TRX has been won by players.

Bitcoin and Ethereum have both had troubles in handling larger volumes. While Ethereum processes just 25 transactions per second, Tron claims to handle 2,000 transactions within the same time. The higher scale makes Tron the ideal destination for dApp developers with TRONbet set as the perfect example.

Tron is set to introduce many more dApps in the coming months with many more migrating from Ethereum because of its scalability issues. Justin Sun confirmed that Tron Mainnet had surpassed 500k accounts a week back. In his interview to Investopedia, he said:

“We will continue efforts in the entertainment and gaming industry. We’ve already seen quite a few outstanding TRON dApps like BitGuild being built on or migrated to the TRON network. In the next two quarters, we expect even more developers to flock to TRON, which will boost our overall performance.”
