Bitcoin is going to be Featured in the Rio Carnival this year
This year’s Rio Carnival will feature the most prominent Cryptocurrency – Bitcoin.
Every year the Rio Carnival attracts approximately a Million people from across the globe to celebrate the Brazilian tradition. At the heart of the carnival is the Samba school parade where various organizations come up with a theme and express it in the form of music and dance.
A prominent Samba school of Rio De Janeiro Imperatriz Leopoldinense is going to feature Bitcoin in its money themed parade in this year’s carnival. Imperatriz Leopoldinense will be performing at Marquês de Sapucaí Sambódromo, one of the most famous venues in Rio.
According to their website, the samba plot is named “Give me some money” outlining the relationship between humans and money over the course of time. The samba school was created back in 1956 and has won the championship several times in the past.
“The Empress will show poetically allegorically the facets of the poor and the rich in various communities” reports Brazilian Crypto news outlet Portal Do Bitcoin.
“Any value materialized in our currencies, banknotes, checks and cards will lose its meaning for virtual money? Let’s get used to not picking them up? Let’s understand that money is just an idea? What will virtual currency do to our consumer society? Will it be able to transform our relationship with value concepts? The future will tell us. ” explains the Samba school
Brazil has through challenging times both politically and economically in the recent past. The Samba school’s decision to make money as their theme has been criticized by many people, some people think it as an irony to talk about money given that carnival is going through its longest period of financial difficulties.
