Coinbase Wallet Adds Litecoin (LTC) Support, No signs of Adding XRP yet

Coinbase Wallet is adding support to Litecoin (LTC)

Coinbase announced in a blog post named ‘Announcing Litecoin (LTC) Support on Coinbase Wallet’ that it now allows users to store Litecoin in the Coinbase Wallet (Previously known as Toshi).

The wallet already supports Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ethereum (ETH), Ethereum Classic (ETC), ERC20 and ERC721 standard tokens. LTC support will be rolled out for both iOS and Android users in the next few weeks.

The blog said:

“LTC support is activated by default — all you need to do is tap ‘Receive’ on the main wallet tab and select Litecoin to send LTC to your Coinbase Wallet.”

The announcement also highlights:

“Coinbase Wallet supports both newer SegWit address formats for lower miner fees, as well as Legacy addresses for backwards compatibility in all applications.”

Litecoin is currently the fifth largest Cryptocurrency with a market cap of $2.98 Billion. At the time of writing is worth $49.31.

When XRP?

This is the question that the XRP fanbase has been asking Coinbase for a long time. The San Francisco based exchange has been cautious in deciding which Cryptocurrencies they are going to support, they announced in December last year about exploring more than 30 tokens including XRP.

But Coinbase has not given any updates regarding the listing of XRP despite high demand, they have however included XRP in their Custody solution for institutional investors.
