An update known as Dogecoin’s 1.14, is to be released soon. Although no official date has been given so far, there can be some delays hints Dogecoin’s developers. Dogecoin developer’s group tweeted a funny GIF to show the state of the project.
There are currently 4,775 commits that need to be merged. Merging such high number of commits will create a problem and most likely break the entire code or someone’s local code.
Max Keller, who’s Github username is Langerhans, opened a discussion on Github regarding merging all the commits or squashing it. Merging will retain all the log’s of users commit while Squashing will combine all the commits into one single commit before pushing.
“Up for debate is if we want to actually push almost 5k commits to master or somehow (don’t ask me how) squash this. I’m not too keen on squashing everything as that would mean losing the “work log” of what has been done compared to upstream. On the plus side, this doesn’t kill everyone’s local master branch with a force push. I’m not against debating the force push tho.
This PR has one additional commit to update the issue template that would have otherwise had info about upstream.”, Max Keller’s debate.
