PinkTaxi: Reddit community believes that John McAfee is promoting a scam

PinkTaxi, a women-only blockchain based cab hailing service, which is being backed by John McAfee, came under a negative light on Sunday. Reddit user /u/projectico, pointed out that a PinkTaxi Team member “Katie Lehman”, does not work for the PinkTaxi team as she works with the user’s team.

The NEO community took notice of the post and soon people from all over the community started pointing out flaws in the ICO.

One user pointed that the entire project is a copy of A2BTaxi, and only the name and the creatives have been changed. Another pointed out that he has seen a few faces from the team in various other projects.

Due to a rising a number of ICO scams, ICOs have started to come under a bad light. In 2017, ICO was a way to raise a huge amount of capital without investors help but nowadays public perception of ICOs seem to be changing.

According to PinkTaxi’s website, Pink Taxi is an established women-only taxi that has empowered hundreds of women and made them take charge of their own lives. The core idea of this service is to provide a safe transportation facility to female passengers and provide a respectable platform for their employment where they feel like they, too, can make a difference in the world.
