MyEtherWallet split's up, co-founder launches rival wallet myCrypto
Troubles in the crypto currency space are not only in the the investment side, but also on the wallet side. MyEtherWallet, one of the world’s most popular crypto wallet is being split up, due to founders rivalry.
Taylor Monahan, who started MyEtherWallet.com, with Khosla Hemachandra, has started a new company called MyCrypto.com. Sources inside the industry say that the new company (MyCrypto) was started without the knowledge of Khosla. MyCrypto will also be launching it’s own Desktop and Mobile app.
On Thursday ( 9th Feb 2018 ) night, users saw a message on MyEtherWallet to “use MyCrypto wallet instead of MyEtherWallet“, and this message was also posted on Twitter via MyEtherWallet’s official Twitter handle. This message so far has been removed from both the website as well as Twitter. One wonder’s whether the community was aware of all this.
Taylor Monahan, also had a falling out with his co-founder Khosla Hemachandra befor. He had also filed for a lawsuit back in 2017 [unconfirmed].
We will update more on the development of this case. Till then it’s safe to use MyEtherWallet.
