Coinbase to add Ripple (XRP) trading?
The Ripple community is abuzz with the speculation that Coinbase, currently the biggest exchange in the world in terms of volume, is about to launch Ripple(XRP) trading on its platform.
Ripple investors and traders have been eagerly waiting for Coinbase to add Ripple on its platform, but till now nothing has happened.
Coinbase had confirmed on Friday (2nd March 2018), that they plan to add more than 500 employees in their team. And beginning from Monday (5th March 2018), the first 90 out of these 500 employees will be joining. This joining has been popularly dubbed as Magic Monday.
The adding of 500 new employees could mean many things: Expansion, increase in support staff but Ripple enthusiast and cryptocurrency community believe that Coinbase is preparing for the trading of XRP token on its platform.
On Tuesday (6th March 2018), COO Coinbase Asiff Hirji and CEO of Ripple and co-founder of XRP token Brad Garlinghous, will appear on CNBC programme FAST MONEY. This could be the big announcement everyone in the Ripple community is eagerly waiting for.
Ripple’s price has already started to rise up, due to the rumours of Ripple being already listed on Coinbase.
Coinbase currently supports five currencies: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash. Their decision to not include the third largest cryptocurrency (Ripple) has been heavily criticized by the cryptocurrency community.
